Undressing girls with Torquemada Games

In 2002, Torquemada Games introduced its game Video Strip Poker. It was the first to put emphasis on elements that had previously been either overlooked or difficult to implement for technical reasons.

Video Strip Poker (2002)

The beginnings of computer strip poker were modest due to the limited capabilities of personal computers at the time. Until the 1990s, computer versions of strip poker offered either photos of models or video footage in small windows, where barely visible models undressed with little connection to the current situation in the game.

This changed in 2002, when Torquemada Games introduced its game Video Strip Poker. It was the first to put emphasis on elements that had previously been either overlooked or difficult to implement for technical reasons. Players were offered a large screen in near-DVD quality, where opponents behaved almost like real people. The most important feature of Video Strip Poker was the interactivity of the gameplay – it wasn’t only about poker, but about the girls’ entire behavior during the game: their mood and flirting. The player was never sure what the opponent’s next move and her behavior would be.

The game gained huge popularity worldwide, confirming the validity and appeal of the innovations introduced. In 2006 and 2007, Video Strip Poker was modernized and, as Video Strip Poker Classic, it is still available today.

Video Strip Poker Supreme (2006)

In 2006, Torquemada Games introduced another game from the Video Strip Poker family. Video Strip Poker Supreme offered players even better video quality and an even higher level of interactivity. Innovations weren’t forgotten either. The opponents stopped being silent and gained the ability to talk to players and comment on their decisions!

Video Strip Poker Boys (2008)

It’s no wonder, then, that Video Strip Poker also achieved enormous commercial success worldwide. In 2008, Torquemada Games surprised everyone once again. Based on the Video Strip Poker Supreme engine, it released the game Video Strip Poker Boys. For the first time in the history of computer versions of strip poker, you could play against men!

Video Strip Poker HD (2013)

Another achievement by Torquemada Games is Video Strip Poker HD, released in 2013. Once again, the focus was successfully placed on increasing the level of interactivity in the gameplay and, most importantly, the game is played in Full HD quality. The appeal of Video Strip Poker HD is also undoubtedly enhanced by the option to play with opponents of all races from all over the world.

Art Strip Poker HD (2018)

In a newer installment of the series, the company released an unusual version of this game titled Art Strip Poker. In this game, success is also rewarded with the gradual undressing of the selected opponent, but it happens in an exceptionally innovative way – the clothes were painted onto the girls’ bodies in several layers. The girls therefore play naked from the very beginning, although they appear to be fully clothed. The effect was achieved thanks to excellent reproduction of clothing using bodypainting techniques and a few visual video tricks.

Video Strip Poker HD – browser version (2022)

In 2022, an online game platform was created. At https://strippoker.app you can have fun on most devices with a web browser. The game became available on most phones and tablets, including Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac).

Currently, in 2026, the game not only remains active on the market, but is still developing dynamically. New virtual opponents regularly appear on the online platforms and PC, and further productions are systematically developed and made available to players. Special editions have also become a tradition – during Christmas, Easter, or Halloween, purchases include unique themed characters such as snow maidens, bunnies, or witches. At the same time, the company takes care of its legacy by remastering archival materials from earlier productions to Full HD and 4K quality, so that both new players and long-time fans can experience classic titles in a modern, polished form.

The idea of a game where the players’ clothes are on the line has been known for centuries. In the case of strip poker, historians believe it spread through bars and brothels in New Orleans at the end of the 19th century. The expression "strip poker" first appeared in 1916 in a joke published by “The Technology Monthly and Harvard Engineering Journal”:

“Say, Bill how did the game come out?”
“It ended in a tie”
“Oh, you were playing strip poker.”
Adult entertainment in literature

Strip poker then began appearing in various literary works, such as Eric Linklater’s 1931 novel “Juan in America”. The author tells the story of a woman who, during a game, loses all of her clothes. In 1939, the first mention of strip poker appeared in literature outside the USA. In the novel “A Coffin for Dimitrios”, we read about a game of strip poker taking place in Istanbul.

Since then, strip poker in many variations has spread all over the world. Nowadays, practically everyone is aware this game exists and roughly knows what it’s about.

Adult games take the world by storm

The rapidly developing personal computer market immediately saw the potential of stripping beautiful girls naked while playing poker. When, in 1982, Artworx produced the game Strip Poker for Apple II computers, it was ported to many other platforms and kick-started the genre’s growth.

In the mid-1980s, Samantha Fox, a singer and model popular worldwide at the time, appeared in the title role in the computer game Samantha Fox Strip Poker, helping popularize the whole pastime.

It was only after nearly 20 years that the computer version of strip poker reached a satisfactory technical level. Until the end of the 20th century, computer strip poker either offered photos of models or video footage in small windows, where barely visible models undressed with little connection to the current situation in the game. This changed in 2002, when Torquemada Games presented its game Video Strip Poker. The fascinating story of Torquemada Games and the Video Strip Poker family of games has been going on for decades. We invite you to learn about it in a separate article.

Strip poker becomes popular because it isn’t a porn game

Strip poker quickly found a permanent place in pop culture, and its popularity began to be used, for example, in films and computer games not thematically related to strip poker. In the movie "Nobody's Fool", strip poker is played by one of the main characters, portrayed by Hollywood star Bruce Willis. In the popular game "Dead Rising 2", the main character plays a game of strip poker with friends he rescued from a zombie attack.

No wonder, then, that strip poker became truly widespread, popular entertainment—officially played even by widely known people. For many celebrities, strip poker became a way to spend free time, as well as to earn substantial amounts of money.

Carmen Electra, one of the icons of femininity at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, was the host of the film Strip Poker Invitational, in which sexy professional nude models play—of course—strip poker. In this production, one of the players was professional poker player, former professional model, and volleyball player Erica Schoenberg.

One of the computer games still available features several actresses known from popular TV series. These are Neriah Davis and Carrie Stevens—American models and actresses known from the series Rock Star and Beverly Hills 90210—as well as Kelly Monaco, an actress known from Baywatch and from participating in the American version of Dancing with the Stars. In 2013, Naya Rivera, an actress appearing in one of the most popular teen series, Glee, took part in an exceptionally atmospheric Strip Poker themed session. The subject of strip poker is also not unfamiliar to one of the biggest scandal-makers of recent years, Lady Gaga. In her erotic-charged music video for Poker Face, she takes part in a thrilling game of strip poker.

Strip poker: popular adult entertainment for those who don’t want to play extreme, vulgar porn games

Thanks to the successes achieved by computer versions of strip poker—led by excellent games from the Video Strip Poker family—as well as celebrity interest in strip poker, strip poker definitively stopped being a taboo topic in public space. In the first decade of the 21st century, official strip poker tournaments began to be organized, with hundreds of players participating at a time. The biggest and best-known mass strip poker tournaments held so far are described in a separate article.

Strip Poker Rules

Unlike in classic poker, strip poker doesn’t use cash or chips. Clothes are the currency. Anyone who stayed in the betting round to the end and lost must get rid of a piece of clothing.

Strip poker is great fun for anyone who likes cards and likes to take their clothes off. The better its participants know and understand the rules and strategy of the game, the more enjoyable it becomes. If there is any gambling game where the prize justifies the risk taken, it’s strip poker. As the name suggests, it’s a card game that goes on until someone—or better yet, everyone—is naked.

Unfortunately, it’s not a game you’ll find in the lineup of classic casinos. Luckily, strip poker is extremely popular at private parties—especially when combined with alcohol. Assuming your goal is to undress someone special at the next party, check out the rules and strategy for playing strip poker below.

Unlike in classic poker, strip poker doesn’t use cash or chips. Clothes are the currency. Anyone who stayed in the betting round to the end and lost must get rid of a piece of clothing. Many people start with the safest items, like shoes or socks, but the choice of what to take off is an individual matter. Some players use a weighted method—for example, a shirt is worth two losses, while shoes are worth only one loss.

When it comes to the poker variant that can be adapted for a strip poker game, there are no restrictions. But since it’s meant to be fun, the best choice is the simplest variants. An example of an easy poker variant is classic five-card draw. It includes only two betting rounds and one card exchange.

The most suitable number of participants is 2–8. Most strip poker games end when the first participant loses all items of clothing. However, this is not a binding rule. The game can also continue until all participants, except one, are naked.

It’s worth noting that the game is often accompanied by alcohol, as it lowers inhibitions and generally makes participants more relaxed. Besides that, it allows people who aren’t entirely happy with their appearance to behave more freely.

The most obvious rule of strip poker is simply being good at the poker variant that’s going to be used. So if you’re going to play a five-card variant, it’s a good idea to get more familiar with the rules that apply to that version.

The goal of a strip poker game depends on the participant. Do you want to undress all the participants, or do you want to be the first one to be undressed yourself? In the second case, a good strategy is to take part in as many betting rounds as possible during the game. In the first case, a better strategy is to avoid betting until you have a strong or very strong hand. However, you shouldn’t avoid all risky bets, because such a strategy is easy for the other players to see through, and sometimes it can irritate them.

Tournaments

At the beginning of the 21st century, strip poker stopped being a taboo subject, drawing hundreds of participants to official tournaments with valuable prizes—proving its enormous market potential.

At the beginning of the 21st century, strip poker definitively stopped being a taboo topic in the public sphere. Official strip poker tournaments began to be organized, with hundreds of players taking part at a time.

The strip poker tournament took place on May 12, 2010, in the Blue Salon of the Park Hotel in Dresden. It was attended by 40 people: 33 men and 7 women. The top twelve players advanced to the final tournament, held on May 27, 2010, in Hamburg. The winner’s prize was a free trip to Las Vegas with 4 nights at the MGM Grand Hotel, a limousine, and a helicopter flight over Las Vegas.
